이렇듯 하나님께서는 먼저 하나님의 형상을 표현한 그릇으로 육신을 가진 사람을 만드셨는데 그 육신을 보니 하나님께서 계획하신대로 하나님의 성품을 표현하기에 너무 훌륭하고 만족스러웠다는 것입니다. 그리고 그 육신을 가진 존재가 하나님께서 온 세상에 충만하게 표현하신 하나님의 의를 자기 존재의 목적으로 삼기를 기다리신 것입니다. 

그것은 일면 하나님께서 수동적인 것 같지만 실상은 모든 것이 충만하므로 사람이 수동적으로 순종만 하면 되는 것이었습니다. 그런데 사람들은 그것을 수용하지 않고 하나님께서 주신 선택을 자기의 기준으로 육신을 판단하는 것에 사용하였습니다. 이것이 바로 타락입니다. 이것이 선악과를 먹은 것입니다. 선악과는 선과 악에 대한 기준을 가지게 되었다는 것인데 그 대상이 바로 육신인 것입니다. 

인생이 가진 의지와 결정권은 순종을 결정하기 위한 것

그리고 육신에 대하여 선과 악에 대한 기준을 가지고 보니 하나님의 얼굴을 피해야겠다고 생각이 들더라는 것입니다. 그래서 숨어서 무화과 나뭇잎으로 자신을 가린 것입니다. 즉 이 선악과를 먹은 사건은 하나님께서 하나님의 형상을 표현하시기 위하여 주신 사람의 육신이라는 형식에 대하여 사람이 자신의 의로서 선과 악을 구분하는 마음을 가지게 된 것을 말하는 것입니다. 하나님께서 아담이라는 육신을 보고서 ‘이것이면 나의 성품을 표현하기에 충분하구나!’ 여기셨고, 사람도 이 육신에 대한 하나님의 뜻을 순종하면 만족하는 삶을 살 수 있기에 만족의 동산인 에덴동산 중앙에 선악과를 두셨던 것입니다. 

그러므로 사람은 하나님께서 주신 의지로서 하나님이 주신 육신을 하나님께서 만드신 목적을 순종하면 살면 되는 것이었습니다. 그러면 그것이 만족, 곧 에덴동산에 사는 것입니다. 에덴동산에 산다는 것은 사람이 그 삶을 만족하느냐 아니냐의 문제이고, 이는 하나님께서 주신 이 육신을 어떻게 보느냐의 문제라는 것입니다. 그런데 사람은 하나님께서 주신 선택의 권한으로 사람들은 자기 육신을 자기 기준으로 선과 악으로 구분하여 판단하기 시작하니 만족하지 못하더라는 것입니다. 스스로 에덴에서 쫓겨난 것입니다.

첫 번째 아담과 두 번째 아담

그러므로 인생을 창조하신 하나님께서 그 인생이 하나님께서 창조하신 목적의 세계가 열리는 것은 다른 과정입니다. 우리에게 육신 가진 존재로 이 세상에 나게 하심이 첫 번째 아담이고, 그 아담이 하나님께서 만드신 목적을 자기 삶의 목적으로 삼는 말씀이 육신이 된 삶을 살게 되는 것이 두 번째 아담이고 구원이며, 그리스도의 본성을 가지는 것입니다. 그리고 그 본성으로 육신의 수명이 다할 때 까지 하나님의 의를 표현하는 것에 육신을 소비하고 사는 것, 그것이 하나님과 동행하는 삶입니다. 하나님께서 삶의 내용으로, 본성의 유전자로 함께 거하시는 것이기 때문입니다. 그것이 바로 임마누엘인 것입니다.

그래서 아담은 ‘첫째 아담’이고 예수님은 ‘둘째 아담’인 것입니다. 왜냐하면 예수님은 하나님께서 뜻하신 그 목적이 온전히 이루어진 분이시기 때문입니다. 성경의 기록 순서로 본다면 1장이 먼저이나, 그것은 설계도와 개론 같은 것이라면 2장에서는 그 설계도대로 지은 사람, 개론에 대한 각론이 시작되었다는 것입니다. (설계도가 실체보다 먼저 나오는 것이 당연하고 개론이 각론에 앞서는 것이 당연한 것입니다.) 다시 말해서 1장에 나오는 사람은 두 번째 아담이자 그리스도를 말씀하시는 것이고, 2장부터 나오는 사람과 아담은 첫 번째 아담이자 육신을 가진 인생에 대한 말씀인 것입니다.

하나님께서 사람을 만드신 것은 그 안에 하나님의 의와 뜻과 계획이 들어가서 그 육신으로 하나님의 성품과 형상(이미지)을 나타내시기 위함인데, 예수님은 하나님의 말씀(계획)이 그 육신이 되신 분이시니 온전한 하나님의 뜻이 나타난 것이고, 그래서 하나님께서는 예수님을 “내 아들, 내 기뻐하는 자”라고 하신 것입니다. 아들은 아버지의 존재를 증명하는 자고, 아버지의 성품과 유전자를 표현하고 드러내는 존재이기 때문입니다.

그러므로 창조와 구원의 시계는 이러합니다. 하나님께서 육신을 만드시고 그 육신이 이 땅에서 살면서 온 천지 만물을 통하여 하나님께서 나타내신 그 뜻과 그 뜻이 우리와 같은 육신으로 오신 예수님을 볼 때에 ‘아 저 모습이 바로 내가 육신을 가지고 살아가는 목적이요, 정체성이구나!’라고 깨달을 때 “빛이 있으라.”하심이 이루어지고, 그때부터 하나님의 의가 온전한 사람이 되기까지 창조가 되는 과정을 거치는 것입니다. 이것이 바로 창조와 구원의 시계입니다.
