(빌립보서 3:17-21) 변화

바울사도는 우리의 낮은 육체를 만물을 복종케하는 예수님의 능력으로 우리도 예수님과 같이 변화시킬 것이라고 말씀하고 있습니다.. 이전에는 ‘낮고 비루(vile)’한 우리의 몸이 예수님과 같이 변할 것이라는 것입니다. 변화, 이전과 다르게 된다는 것입니다. 그리고 이 변화라는 말은 교회에서 쉽게 들을 수 있는 말 중의 하나입니다. 예수님을 믿어서 변화된다는 것과 같은 것이 그것입니다.

하지만 성경이 말씀하는 변화는 분명히 <예수님으로 인하여 변하는 것>입니다. 성령으로 인하여 잉태된 심령으로 인하여 그 육신의 삶이 변한다는 것이 또한 그것입니다. 이것은 사람이 자기 안에 있는 각오나 신념과 같은 것을 동력으로 하여 자기 삶이 변하는 것과는 근원적으로 다른 것을 말합니다. 

‘교회에 다니면서 이러면 안 되지.’와 같은 생각을 인하여 이전과 다른 행동을 하는 것은 변화가 아니라 각오와 신념입니다. 밖에서 보기에는 이전과 다른 변화라는 관점에서 동일하게 보이지만 이것은 근원적으로 다른 것입니다. 예수님은 그것을 <노릇>하는 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 바울사도는 그것을 행위로 의로워지는 것이라는 관점으로 늘 말씀했습니다. 

예수를 믿는 많은 사람들은 예수님을 믿어서 변한 것을 이야기 합니다. 말장난 같을지 모르지만 예수님을 믿어서 변화된 것과 예수님으로 인한 변화는 다른 것입니다. 예수님을 믿기에 이전과 다르게 살아야 한다는 생각을 인하여 마음에는 이전과 같은 생각이 있는데 다른 행동을 하는 것은 예수 믿기에 변화된 모습을 보이려는 것입니다. 그런 ‘변화의 노릇’은 변화를 이끌어내는 동력이 자기 안에 있는 의지와 신념입니다. 의지와 신념은 육신의 능력입니다. 그것은 육신으로 의로워지는 것입니다. 또한 그것은 육신의 능력이 연약해지면 변화를 이끄는 동력이 없어지는 것입니다.

반면에 예수님으로 인한 변화는 변화의 동력이 자기 의지나 신념에 있는 것이 아닙니다. 변화의 동력이 예수님이라는 것입니다. 이것은 ‘예수 믿으니까, 교회 다니니까 이래야지’와 같은 마음으로 하는 것이 아닙니다. 정확히는 그런 마음이 들 겨를도 없이 자신도 모르게 이전과 다른 행동을 하고, 다른 생각이 드는 것입니다. 단지 예수님의 십자가가 자신의 운명이라는 것을 순종하기만 했을 뿐인데 그렇게 되는 것입니다. 

‘예수님께서 십자가를 지셨으니 그 은혜에 보답해야지.’와 같은 마음이 들 시간도 없습니다. 상황에 대한 판단 후에 자신이 예수 믿는 사람이라는 것을 인지하고 그 인지한 자기 믿음을 위하여 자기 행동을 다르게 이끄는 변화가 아니라는 것입니다. 이것은 오히려 성경대로 살지 않으려고 해도, 예수님을 혹은 성경을 한번 부인해보려고 해도 되지 않는 것입니다. 성경을 읽고 듣고서 믿어지지 않는 것을 믿기 위하여 노력하는 것이 아니라, 말씀을 들었더니 자기 안에서 이해가 되고 순종이 되는 것을 의심하고 부인하려 해도 되지 않는 것을 말합니다. 자기 마음으로 된 변화가 아니라는 것입니다. 신념이나 각오와 같은 것으로 되는 것이 아니라는 것입니다. 

예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 보이시고 전하신 모든 것 중에 그 어떤 상황이나 말씀이나 모습도 예수님께서 신념이나 의지로 하셨다거나, 그 육신의 능력으로 하신 것이 없습니다. 예수님은 단순하게 ‘하나님이 일하시니 나도 한다.’고 하셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀이 육신이 되신 분이 그렇게 말씀하셨다는 것은 예수님의 모든 말씀과 행동은 하나님의 뜻으로 하시는 것이라는 것입니다.

바울사도도 마찬가지입니다. 모든 사도가 그렇고, 진정으로 구원을 받았고 하나님을 온전히 믿는 믿음이 그렇습니다. 자기 마음이나 생각으로 ‘이렇게 해야지.’하는 것이 없습니다. 오히려 자기 스스로도 ‘내가 이러기도 하네?’라고 놀라고 반문합니다. 이런 경험이 없다면, 스스로의 어떤 모습, 다른 사람에게 보여주지 않은 자기 모습 어떤 것으로 인해서도 ‘예수 믿는 사람이 이래서 되는가?’라는 것이 전혀 없는 마음이 아니라면 자기 의지로 변화를 이끌어낸 것입니다. 변화의 동력이 자기 안에서 나오는 것입니다. 예수님으로 인한 것이 아니라는 것입니다.

바울사도가 말씀하고 있는 것, 만물을 복종케하는 사람이 되고, 구원을 이루어가는 사람이 되는 것, 그렇게 예수님께서 우리를 변화시킬 것이라는 것은 그런 변화가 아닙니다. 자신도 어쩔 수 없는 그렇게 살지 않으려 해도 어쩔 수 없는 그런 것입니다. 이런 경험이 없다면 구원을 논할 수 없습니다. 예수님을 믿는 것을 논할 수 없습니다. 예수님으로 인한 변화를 이야기 할 수 없습니다. 이것은 단순한 경험이 아닙니다. 한 번 경험하고 나면 그렇게 살 수밖에 없고, 그렇게 살지 않으려 해도 자기로선 어쩔 수 없는 변화입니다. 그 변화가 바울사도가 말씀하고 있는 구원이고, 푯대를 향하여 가는 삶이고, 만물을 복종하게 하는 삶입니다.

Such "the act of change" is the will and belief in the power that drives change. Will and belief are the powers of the flesh. It is to be righteous in the flesh. It also means that when the power of the flesh becomes weak, there is no power to drive change.

On the other hand, the change caused by Jesus is not the power of change in his will or belief. The power of change is Jesus. This is not the same mind as 'I believe in Jesus, I must go to church'. It is precisely this kind of behavior that is different from the previous one without knowing it without even knowing it. It is only that they have obeyed that the cross of Jesus is their destiny.

There is no time for a heart like 'Jesus will bear the cross for it.' After the judgment of the situation, it is not a change that recognizes that he is a person who believes in Jesus and leads his behavior differently for his own belief. Even if you do not want to live according to the Bible, you can not try to deny Jesus or the Bible once. It is not trying to read and hear the Bible and to believe what is incredible, but to listen to the Word and understand it in itself, to doubt and deny being obedient. It is not a change made by oneself. It is not something like conviction or determination.

None of the things, words, or things that Jesus came to see and showed on earth, Jesus did with faith or will, or with the power of his flesh. Jesus simply said, "God works and I do." That the Word of God was the flesh said that all the words and deeds of Jesus are in the will of God.

The same is true of Paul. All apostles, by the way, are truly saved and have faith in God completely. There is nothing to 'do this' in your own mind or thoughts. Rather, I myself am amazed that I am doing this. If you do not have this experience, you are transforming yourself with your will, if you have no idea of ​​what you are and what you have not shown to others. The power of change comes from within. It is not because of Jesus.

It is not such a change that the Apostle Paul is saying, being a person who obeys all things, becoming a person to be saved, and so Jesus will change us. I can not help myself even if I do not live like that. Without this experience, we can not discuss salvation. I can not argue with believing in Jesus. We can not talk about the change caused by Jesus. This is not a mere experience. Once you experience it, you have to live that way, and even if you do not live like that, you can not help but change. That change is the salvation Paul is talking about, a life that leads to the goal, and a life that submits everything.
