(빌립보서 1:1-2) 바울 사도의 문안(3)

바울 사도의 많은 서신들의 문안에서는 <예수 그리스도 안에서>라는 말씀과 함께 <은혜와 평강>이라는 말씀도 많이 나옵니다. 은혜와 평강이라는 것은 그냥 단순하게 ‘존경하는 국민 여러분’같은 단어가 아닙니다. ‘예수 그리스도 안’에 있는 성도라는 말은 편지의 수신자에 대한 명확한 구분과 정의를 내린 것과 같이 은혜와 평강 역시 그것이 해당되는 사람이 정해져 있습니다.

예수님께서 제자들을 전도 보내실 때에 말씀하시기를 “방문하는 집에 평안을 빌라 그 평안이 그 집에 합당하면 평안이 그 집에 임할 것이고, 합당치 않으면 평안을 빈 제자들에게 돌아 올 것(마 10장)”이라고 말씀하셨는데, 그와 같은 것입니다. 은혜와 평강 역시 바울 서신을 수신하는 교회에 다닌다고 은혜와 평강이 임하는 것이 아니라 그에 합당한 사람일 때 임하는 것입니다. 그리고 그것은 <예수 그리스도 안>에 있는, 예수님과 정체성이 동일한 사람에게 한정된 문안입니다.

먼저 ‘은혜’에 대하야 이야기해 보겠습니다. 은혜는 흔히 ‘값없이 주는 선물’이라 여깁니다. 자신은 한 것이 없는데 받게 되는 것을 말합니다. 그와 같이 은혜는 자신으로서는 어떤 것ㄷ 하지 않았는데 이루어진 것을 말합니다. 더 상세하게 설명하면 사람으로서는 할 수 없는 것, 그것을 사람인 나에게 이루어주실 때 그것이 은혜인 것입니다.

사람이 할 수 없는 것은 너무 많습니다. 자신이 맘먹은 대로 살 수 없는 것이 사람입니다. 그러나 그런 것은 사람에 따라서 정도가 다릅니다. 사람이 맘먹고 바라는 것은 그 정도도 다르고, 이루어내는 것도 다릅니다. 하지만 사람이라면 그 누구라도 자신으로서는 알 수 없고, 어떻게 할 수 없는 것이 있는데 그것은 자신의 존재 이유와 자기 삶의 목적을 아는 것입니다. 그것은 모든 사람에게 차별 없이 스스로 어떻게 할 수 없는 것입니다.

사람이 자기 삶의 형식과 현상에 관해서도 할 수 없는 것이 무한할 정도로 많지만, 정작 가장 중요한 것은 자기 존재의 이유를 모른다는 것입니다. 통화를 목적으로 만든 휴대전화로 망치질을 하려 하지 않듯, 존재의 이유를 알면 그 존재 목적에 맞게 할 수 있는 일, 해야 할 일만 하면 되는데, 그것을 모르니 세상에 존재하고 상상할 수 있는 모든 것에 비추어 자신이 할 수 있는지 없는지를 비교하고 판단하는 것입니다. 

문제는 사람이라는 존재는 스스로 존재하는 것이 아니기 때문에 자신의 존재 이유가 자기 안에 없다는 것입니다. 그래서 사람들은 살면서 세상이 원하는 것이 아니라 자기가 하고 싶은 것을 하는 것이 인생을 잘 사는 것이라고 타협하기도 하지만 자기 안에서 나오는 것 역시 자신이 존재한 이후의 일이므로 존재하게 될 때 존재하게 된 이유는 모르는 것입니다.

성경이 말씀하시는 은혜는 바로 이것에 관한 것입니다. 하나님의 은혜라는 것은 먼저, 사람이 스스로 알 수 없는 자기 존재의 이유를 하나님께서 알게 하신다는 것입니다. 그것은 사람 스스로는 도저히 할 수 없는 것인데 그것을 하나님께서 사람에게 알게 하시려고 친히 이 땅에 우리와 같은 육신으로 오셨다는 것이 하나님 은혜의 본질이라는 것입니다. 그것이 성경이 말씀하시는 또 바울 사도가 문안인사로 하고 있는 <은혜>의 본질입니다.

그렇게 사람이 자기 존재의 이유를 알게 되는 것은 빛의 개념으로 보면 어두움 가운데 비친 빛이 되고, 죄와 구원의 관점에서 보면 존재 이유를 알지 못해서 휴대폰으로 망치질을 하려하듯 육신으로 되지 않는 일들을 수련하고 절제하여 이르려는 행함의 노력이라는 하나님의 정체성이나 하나님께서 가지신 의와 뜻과 전혀 다른 삶을 살려고 하는 자기 자리를 벗어난 죄에서 구원을 받는 것이 되는 것입니다.

사람이 자기 존재의 목적을 모르면 자기 안에서 일어나는 모든 것을 다 하려합니다. 그러나 원대로 되지 않음 앞에서 스스로가 잘못된 것이라 여기고 육신을 가진 인생을 부정하게 여깁니다. 그래서 마음에 원하는 것을 하나님께서 해결해 주시기를 바라며 기도합니다. 또 성경의 말씀을 문자 그대로 행동으로 지켜내려 합니다. 그런 모든 것이 잘 되지 않는 것은 당연한 것인데 인생이 연약해서 그렇다고 말합니다. 하지만 그것은 존재의 이유를 몰라서 그런 것입니다.

하나님의 은혜는 사람들의 그런 모든 수고와 고난에서 벗어나게 합니다. 하나님의 은혜는 우리로 하여금 우리 존재의 이유를 알게 합니다. 존재의 이유를 안다는 것은 어두움에서 벗어나 온전한 인식을 가지는 것입니다. 우리가 가정이나 회사에서 대하는 모든 물건에 대하여 존재의 목적을 알면 그것에 대하여 밝은 사람이 되고, 그것을 다스리는 사람이 되며, 목적에 벗어난 사용을 자제합니다.

그러나 존재의 목적을 모르면 컴맹이나 길치와 같이 그것에 대하여 어둡다고 합니다. 그런 어두움은 다스리지 못하게 합니다. 목적대로 사용하지 못하면 다스리지 못하는 것입니다. 반면에 존재의 목적을 명확히 아는 사람은 아주 잘 다스립니다. 컴퓨터와 프로그램의 존재 목적을 잘 아는 사람은 아주 잘 다스려 전문가라 합니다. 그들은 절대 존재 목적 외에 사용을 하지 않습니다. 존재의 목적은 이렇듯 근본적인 핵심입니다.

사람도 그렇습니다. 하나님께서 우리를 만드신 목적을 알게 되면 우리는 자유하게 됩니다. 하나님의 의도에 맞게 인생을 살면, 하나님이 만드신 육신이 온전함을 알고, 그 육신의 어떠함으로 인한 것을 죄로 여기지 않으며, 하늘을 나는 것과 같이 육신의 연약함 밖에 있는 하지 못하는 것을 추구하지도 않고 낙심하지도 않습니다. 그것은 존재의 목적 외의 것이기 때문입니다. 이것이 하나님의 은혜입니다.

더욱이 하나님의 은혜는 그것에서 그치지 않습니다. 그 존재의 목적을 알고 보니 그것은 우리가 하나님을 담는 그릇이고, 하나님이 가지신 성품을 표현하는 형식과 도구임을 알게 되는 것입니다. 이것은 아주 놀라운 은혜입니다. 스스로 존재하지도 않았는데, 천지의 주재이신 하나님께서 그 성품을 표현하시겠다는 계획 아래서 만드셔서 하나님을 내용으로 살아가는 존재하게 되었다는 것은 그야말로 은혜인 것입니다.

스스로 존재할 수도 없는 존재인데, 스스로 존재하시고 세상을 주관하시는 여호와 하나님, 그 분의 마음과 뜻과 의와 하나가 되는 것이 우리의 존재 목적이라는데 그것이 가지는 의미는 진정 놀라운 것입니다. 이것이 성경이 말씀하시는 은혜인 것입니다.

그러므로 바울 사도가 교회에 편지할 때 마다 사용하고 있는 이 <은혜와 평강>은 자신을 만드신 이가 하나님이고, 자기 삶의 존재 이유와 목적을 하나님이 가지고 있다는 것을 고백하므로 예수 그리스도와 같은 정체성을 가진 진정한 성도들, 그들에게 하는 문안이기에 그런 고백과 순종이 있는 사람은 바울과 성경의 문안이 자신의 사건이 되고, 그렇지 않은 사람은 성경을 통째로 외우고 바울의 삶의 모든 것을 속속들이 안다고 해도 이 문안은 자신에게는 아무 것도 아닌 것입니다.

In the light of the concept of light, a person becomes aware of the reason for his being, and from the viewpoint of sin and salvation, he does not know the reason for existence, It is to be saved from the identity of God, the endeavor of the work, or the sins that are out of his place to live a life completely different from the will and will of God.

If a person does not know the purpose of his being, he will do everything that happens in him. But it is not done before. I regard myself as wrong in front of me, and I deny the life with the flesh. God's grace frees people from all their hard work and suffering. The grace of God makes us know why we are. It is a surprise that the meaning of Jehovah God, who exists and can not exist in ourselves, is that of our existence, to be one with his heart, will, and righteousness. This is the grace of the Bible.
