(빌립보서 1:1-2) 바울 사도의 문안(4)

바울 사도의 문안에 있는 ‘예수 그리스도 안’과 또 ‘은혜’에 대하여 이전 글에서 살펴보았습니다. 이제 끝으로 <평강>에 대하여 이야기해 볼까 합니다. 평강이라는 말은 ‘에이레네(εἰρήνη)’라는 헬라어를 주로 사용합니다. 이 단어는 구약의 ‘샬롬(שלום)’이란 히브리어와 대응이 됩니다. 둘 다 평안과 평강 또 평화와 같은 의미를 가지고 있습니다.

그리고 예수 안에 속한 사람이 된다는 것의 내용은 사람으로서는 알 수 없는 사람의 존재 목적, 곧 사람을 향한 하나님의 뜻을 알게 되는 은혜를 입은 사람이라는 것이고, 또한 예수님께서 비신 예수님과 같은 정체성을 가진 존재가 되어 예수님과 평안하고, 예수님께서 세상을 이기시고 평안하셨던 것과 같이 평안한 존재가 되는 것이라는 것입니다.

그러므로 바울 사도가 성도들에게 비는 문안과 기원하는 것은 오직 하나 예수 그리스도와 같은 정체성을 가진 사람이 되기를 바라는 것입니다. 모든 것은 예수님께서 하나님의 의를 가진 육신으로 오셔서 십자가에서 하나님께서 가지신 사람을 향한 뜻을 보이시므로 하나님의 아들이 되심과 같이 우리 모든 사람도 그렇게 될 때 예수 그리스도 안에서 은혜와 평강을 누리는 사람이 되는 것입니다. 즉 바울 사도의 문안과 예수님께서 주신 평안을 누리는 사람이 되는 것입니다.
