(빌립보서 1:12-30) 살든지 죽든지

나의 간절한 기대와 소망을 따라 아무 일에든지 부끄럽지 아니하고 오직 전과 같이 이제도 온전히 담대하여 살든지 죽든지 내 몸에서 그리스도가 존귀히 되게 하려 하나니 이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익함이니라(빌 1:20-21)

바울 사도는 빌립보의 성도들에게 자신이 처할 수 있는 두 가지 상황에 대하여 언급합니다. 하나는 옥에서 풀려나서 복음을 전하고 빌립보의 성도들과 직접 교제하는 것이고, 또 하나는 자신이 죽임을 당할 수 있음을 언급한 것입니다. 그러나 우리가 흔히 보는 접하는 것과는 다르게 그 어느 것이든지 다 그리스도께 유익한 것이라고 말씀하고 있습니다.

하나님을 믿는 많은 사람들은 자신들이 하나님을 믿기 때문에 자신의 불행은 곧 하나님의 불행이라는 생각을 가지고 있습니다. 이런 망상을 가장 많이 하는 사람들이 목사나 전도사입니다. 바울 사도와 같은 상황이라면 살아서 복음을 전하는 것이 더 유익한 것이라고 생각하는 그것이 정말로 망상이라는 것입니다.

여성도를 추행했다는 의혹을 크게 받고 있는 전OO목사나 배임죄가 확정된 조OO목사와 같은 이들의 논리를 보면 알 수 있습니다. 정말로 하나님께서 그 뜻하신 바를 이루신다는 믿음이 있다면 설사 자신들이 받고 있는 의혹이나 기소 내용이 사실이 아니더라도 단지 그런 의혹만으로도 자신의 손해를 감수할 것입니다. 그게 믿음입니다. 그런데 자신들은 하나님의 종(물론 당연히 자칭일 뿐이지만)이기 때문에 세상에서 그런 비난을 받으면 안 된다는 논리로 대응하고 있습니다. 

그리고 그것은 그들만의 이야기가 아닙니다. 그를 추종하는 세력은 물론이고, 육신의 어떠함은 하나님께서 그 사람을 생각하는 현상이라고만 생각하는 사람들, 바울 사도가 옥에 갇힌 것이나 욥의 고난이 하나님의 벌이라고 생각하는 사람들의 생각과 신앙관 역시 같은 것입니다. 눈에 보이는 것을 본질로 알기 때문에 눈에 보이는 세상의 가치관이 좋다고 하는 것과 상황이어야 하나님께서 인정하시는 것이고 하나님의 일이라고 생각하기 때문에, 세상의 비난을 이겨내고 세상에서도 성공하여야 하나님의 일을 제대로 할 수 있다고 생각하는 것입니다. 그러나 이것은 세상의 가치관에게 종이된 것일 뿐입니다.

사람들은 하나님을 믿으면 자신들이 존귀해 진다고 여깁니다. 그래서 자신은 세상에서 험한 꼴을 당하면 안 된다고 생각합니다. 그러나 우리가 존귀해 지는 것은 세상적인 가치가 귀해지는 것이 아닙니다. 세상의 주인이신 하나님의 목적에 부합한 존재가 되므로 그 목적 안에서 존귀해 지는 것이지 세상의 가치관으로 볼 때 존귀해 지는 것이 아닌 것입니다. 

하나님께서 세상을 만드시고 사람을 만드신 목적이 드러나는 일을 위해서라면 우리는 가난에도 처할 수 있고, 부요함에 처할 수도 있습니다. 하나님의 아들이 죄인이 되어 십자가도 지는 것이 하나님의 의를 나타내는 일이고 창조 목적인데 하나님을 믿는 사람들이 세상에서 좋은 일 가운데 있어야 하나님의 일을 하는 것이고, 하나님께서 복을 주시는 것이라고 생각하는 것인지 알다가도 모를 일입니다. 그것은 한 마디로 하나님을 알지 못하기 때문이라고밖에 할 수 없습니다. 하나님을 알고 하나님께서 자신을 만드신 목적을 알고 하나님과 자신의 관계가 분명한데 그럴 수는 없기 때문입니다.

바울 사도는 그것을 분명하게 알고 있었습니다. 세상의 가치관을 가진 사람들이 좋게 여기는 상황이나 형편에 처하게 되어야 하나님께서 그리스도를 위한 삶이되는 것이 아니라는 것을 분명하게 알고 있었다는 것입니다. 그리고 그런 자신의 신앙관을 빌립보 교회의 성도들에게 말씀하고 있는 것입니다. 그 이유야 당연히 빌립보의 성도들도 바울 사도와 같은 믿음을 가지기를 바랐기 때문입니다. 그리고 그 마음은 오늘 우리가 빌립보서를 읽고서 묵상하고 우리의 이야기가 되도록 받아야 하는 이유이기도 한 것입니다.

우리는 우리 자신의 삶을 돌아보면 얼마나 많은 삶의 영역에서 세상의 가치관으로 볼 때 좋아지고 괜찮은 형편이 되어야 하나님께 영광이 된다고 생각하는지, 또 그런 상황이어야 하나님의 일이 제대로 되고 있다고 생각하는지, 또 하나님의 일을 하기 위해서 그렇게 되어야 한다고 생각하는지 모릅니다. 그러나 바울 사도는 사나 죽으나, 좋은 형편이나 나쁜 형편이나 모두 그리스도를 위한 것이라는 것입니다.

The thoughts and beliefs of those who think that God is the phenomenon of thinking of the person, and that the apostle Paul is imprisoned in jail or Job's suffering is God's punishment, as well as the forces that follow him. It is the same. It is a condition that the visible world values ​​are good because it knows what is visible, and it is a condition that God recognizes. Because it is God's work, we must overcome the blame of the world and succeed in the world to do God's work properly It is to think. But this is only a slave to the values ​​of the world.

People believe that if they believe in God, they are honored. Therefore, I think that you should not suffer the rough form in the world. But being honorable does not mean that worldly values ​​are precious. It is to be honored in that purpose because it becomes a being that conforms to the purpose of God, the master of the world, and not to be honored in terms of world values.

If God has made the world and the purpose of man made manifest, then we can be in poverty and wealth. It is the purpose of God's righteousness to be a sinner and a cross to become a sinner and to know that those who believe in God must be in good works in the world to do God's work and think that God is blessed It is a mortal thing. It can not be said that it does not know God in a word. It is because God knows God, knows His purpose, and His relationship with God is clear.
