(빌립보서 3:17-21) 하늘에 있는 시민권

하나님을 믿는 신앙을 가진 사람들은 이 말씀을 자주 인용합니다. 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있다는 바울사도의 말씀이 자기의 이야기라고 생각합니다. 그렇게 생각하는 것은 자유지만, 분명히 바울사도는 <우리(We)>라고 했습니다. 그랬다는 것은 시민권이 하늘에 있으려면 바울사도와 정체성이 같아야 하는 것입니다. 정체성이 같은 사람들을 ‘우리’라고 말하기 때문입니다.

특히나 많은 신앙인들 죽어서 천국에 간다고 생각합니다. 그것은 틀린 생각은 아니지만 많은 경우 천국에 가려면 이 세상에서 행동을 바로 해야 한다고 생각합니다. 성경을 잘 지키고 살아야 한다고 생각한다는 것입니다. 행동으로 죄를 범하면 천국에 가지 못할 수도 있다고 생각한다는 것입니다. 그리고 이 땅에서는 그렇게 행동으로 천국에 갈 자격을 얻는다고 말하면서 정작 천국에 가면 아무 일도 하지 않을 것이라고 생각합니다. 이 세상의 수고가 천국에 들어가는 값이고 노잣돈이라는 것입니다.

문제는 이 세상에서는 수고해야 하고, 천국에서는 수고하지 않는다는 것입니다. 천국에 들어가기 위한 자격은 육신으로, 행함으로, 수고하므로, 하나님께 자기 것을 드림으로 들어가는데 들어가면 그것을 하지 않는다는 것입니다. 죽는 순간 천국에 대한 의가 변한다는 것입니다. 이것은 언뜻 천국과 이 땅의 삶은 다른 것이라서 그렇다고 말할 수 있지만, 양쪽의 삶에 관한 것이 아니라 어떤 신분, 어떤 자격으로 천국에 들어갈 것인지의 문제인 것입니다.

이 땅에서 천국에 들어가기 위해서는 행동으로 성경을 지켜야 한다고 생각한다는 것은 천국의 의가 행동으로 의로워진 사람들이 들어가는 곳이라는 의미입니다. 다시 말해서 하늘의 시민권 심사는 이 땅에서 얼마나 행동으로 성경을 지켜내었느냐에 관한 것이라는 것입니다. 그런데 정작 천국, 곧 하늘에서는 아무런 수고도 하지 않는다? 그럴 수는 없는 것입니다. 천국이 행함으로 누리는 곳이 아니라면 천국에 들어가는 자격, 시민권 심사의 기준 역시 행함에 있는 것이 아니라는 것입니다.

바울사도가 “우리의 시민권은 하늘에”라고 말한 것은 ‘우리’와 ‘하늘’은 정체성이 같기 때문에 그렇게 말씀하고 있는 것입니다. 하늘의 의가 자신의 의인 사람을 바울사도가 ‘우리’라고 칭하고 있다는 것입니다. 그 이유는 당연히 바울사도의 의가 하나님의 의와 같기 때문입니다. 자기 안에 하늘의 의가 있다는 것을 알고, 또한 자신과 같이 하늘의 의를 가진 이들이 바로 우리라는 것입니다. 그러니 그들의 시민권이 하늘에 있는 것은 당연한 것입니다.

그러면 하늘의 의는 무엇인가? 그것은 적어도 행함으로 의로워지는 것은 아닙니다. 다시 말해서 천국에 가기 위해서 성경을 행동으로, 육신으로 지켜내야 한다는 것은 아니라는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 하나님께서는 사람의 중심을 보시고. 외모(형식이나 행함)을 보시지 않으시며, 무엇보다 육신으로는 의로워질 수 없다고 하셨기 때문입니다. 천국 곧 하늘에 가는데 육신이 얼마나 성경을 지키고 살았는지는 전혀 고려의 대상이 아니라는 것입니다. 

그러므로 하늘의 시민권은 하나님께서 의롭게 여기시는 의를 옳다고 여기는 사람이어야만 얻을 수 있는 것입니다. 육신으로 성경을 지켜서 천국에 가고, 그 공로로 천국에서 좋은 집에서 살 것이라고 꿈꾸는 이들은 자기들이 제 아무리 스스로를 천국 시민권을 가진 사람이고 우겨봤자 소용없다는 것입니다. 개가 짖는다고 기차가 정지할 일 없듯이 그런 일은 일어나지 않습니다.

하늘의 시민권은 당연히 하늘과 의가 같아야 얻을 수 있는 것입니다. 행위가 아니라 중심을 보시고, 겉모습이 아니라 본성과 생명이 무엇인지를 보시는 분이, 자기 배를 채우는 것을 하나님으로 알고, 육신이 잘 되는 것을 복으로 알며, 세상에서 성공하는 것이 하나님께 영광이라고 알며, 그러한 것을 위하여 육신으로 성경을 지켜서 자기 육신의 유익을 하나님께 얻으려고 하는 십자가와 원수인 자들이 제 아무리 금식을 하고 목사고 장로며 모든 재산을 다 교회에 바쳐도 안타깝지만 하나님 나라의 시민권을 주실 리는 절대로 없는 것입니다.

하늘에 있는 시민권을 얻으려면 하나님과 정체성이 같고, 의가 같아야 합니다. 존재의 신이신 하나님은 우리가 어떤 행동을 하느냐에 관심이 있는 것이 아니라, 우리가 누구인지를 보십니다. 오직 그것만 보십니다. 우리가 하나님께서 사람 만드신 목적을 자기 삶의 목적과 의미로 순종하는 사람인지만을 보십니다. 그러면 행동은 그 정체성에서 비롯되는 것입니다. 그러니 당연히 중심을 보시는 것입니다. 그런 사람이어야 하나님 나라, 하늘의 시민권을 가진 사람인 것입니다.

This is a question of life in heaven and earth at a glance, but it can be said that it is not about both lives, but about what kind of status and what qualifications are going to enter the kingdom of heaven.

In order to enter the kingdom of heaven on earth, we must keep the Bible in action, which means that the righteous people of heaven will enter the righteous people. In other words, the examination of the citizenship of heaven is about how the Bible was kept in action by the earth. But in heaven, heaven, he does not do any trouble. It can not be. If the heaven is not the place to enjoy it, the qualification to enter the kingdom of heaven and the criteria for the examination of citizenship are not in the act.

Paul's apostle said, "Our citizenship is in heaven." It is because we and heaven have the same identity. The righteousness of heaven is that the apostle Paul calls his righteous man 'we'. The reason is, of course, that Paul's righteousness is like the righteousness of God. We know that there is the righteousness of heaven in Himself, and those who have the righteousness of Heaven, like Himself, are us. So it is natural that their citizenship is in heaven.

Then what is the righteousness of heaven? It is not at least not done by the act. In other words, we do not have to protect the Bible in action and in the flesh in order to go to heaven. Because God saw the center of man. He does not see his appearance (form or action), and above all, he can not be righteous in the flesh. Heaven, heavenly, goes to heaven, and it is not at all the subject of consideration how much the body has kept the Bible.

Therefore, the citizenship of heaven can only be obtained if the righteousness of God is righteous. Those who dream of keeping the Bible in the flesh and going to heaven and living in a good house in heaven by their merits are no use to admit that they are themselves heavenly citizens. That does not happen as the dog barks and the train does not stop.

The citizenship of heaven can only be obtained if it is like heaven and earth. He who sees the center, not the act, but who sees what nature and life are, not the appearance, knows God filling his ship, blesses that the body is well, The cross and the enemy who are trying to keep the Bible in the flesh in order to obtain the benefits of the flesh from God are those who fast, It is absolutely not.

To obtain citizenship in heaven, God must have the same identity and righteousness as God. The god of being God is not interested in what we do, but who we are. Only you see it. We see that God is the one who obeys the purpose of man made in the purpose and meaning of his life. Then action is from that identity. So, of course you see the center. He must be the person of God, the citizen of heaven.
